Netflix has launched its new smartphone gaming service in the US on Tuesday for Android mobile phones.

You can access these games via an update to the Netflix app, provided you live in the United States.

Initially, five games will be available to download:

  • Stranger Things: 1984
  • Stranger Things 3: The Game
  • Card Blast
  • Teeter Up
  • Shooting Hoops

Netflix says that the gaming subscription model will be coming to Apple iPhones ‘within the coming months’. Apple has a history of rejecting what they call ‘stores within stores’, such as Microsoft’s Xbox Game Pass in which Apple wanted the company to list all their games individually on the App Store. Microsoft therefore allowed iPhone users to use Xbox Game Pass through the Safari Web Browser instead.

The subscription service will be completely free of advertisements, and the games are included in your Netlfix subscription at no additional cost.
