Twitter Spaces first launched almost a year ago – but until now it has been limited to users with 600 or more followers.
Now Twitter is rolling out the ability for anyone to host Spaces. This comes at a time later than Twitter initially announced, but now it is finally happening.
Spaces is a feature similar to the previously popular Clubhouse app, which allows users to join a ‘room’ and listen to speakers virtually. It also allows hosts to invite others to speak. Twitter Spaces works in a similar way, but the feature is integrated straight into the app.
Twitter is also testing features such as Ticketed Spaces, which allows hosts to charge for users to gain access to the Space.
