iOS 15

SharePlay is one of the features which Apple revealed at WWDC, alongside its new operating systems iOS 15, iPadOS 15, watchOS 8, tvOS 15 and macOS Monterey.

The feature allows users to watch shows and listen to music in sync with others while on video or voice call with them. It is a much welcome addition to Apple software, especially due to the pandemic and people being unable to spend time together in person.

iOS 15 is expected to officially launch next month alongside new Apple products such as the iPhone. The updates have been avaliable via developer and public betas since the updates were announced at WWDC in June. SharePlay is the first feature to be removed or delayed so far from the latest releases announced this year.

Apple has said that SharePlay will return in future developer betas and the feature will officially launch later this fall. Until then the latest updates will go ahead without SharePlay.
